I think it's a scam now. Plus it's too much hassle. For tickets in China we check on the internet then just go to an office where you can buy plane tickets.  Cripple is a huge scam now.

As long as your debit card has a visa / mastercard logo, or whatever other options they accept it shouldn't make a difference if it's a debit or credit card.

Yep. I've done it myself before.

Only thing is, you'll have to decide on which currency to use. Think it's based on the currency of your national bank holder and China's one.

When I was regularly buying tickets, I could only use my debit card (Union Pay, not Visa/MC) at the CTrip office...credit cards were only an option for ticket delivery.

Weird thing is: last year I tried to buy a ticket with my unionpay debit card but I failed, they told me tickets at ctrip.can only be bought by credit card...it was such a hassle then I got a credit card and bought a ticket and within a few hours I received text message saying my credit card had been compromised...so im wondering if ctrip is a scam?
