It just comes up as 'reading difficulty' when I translate it. I'm totally skeptical that it's a real 'illness' in the west. It's basically a bad excuse for having poor reading and writing skills. Tsch!

If a tree falls in a forest and no one is there, does it make a sound? Dyslexia exists everywhere, and considering at least 20% of the world's population is concentrated in China, well it's a safe bet to assume a fifth of dyslexic people are in China.
But with peer/parent pressure, maybe they hide it better than in the West.
I don't know if we have this dyslexia in China, we do have a lot Illiteracy, that's different isn't it?
nevermind:
Dyslexia is likely not as much of a problem in China because you have characters that represent whole words. What it is is a condition that causes people to mix up letters in words. So they'll write the word "Because" like this: "Bcsuae." Only not in the same way as making a natural mistake, they can't figure out the order. Makes them read and write more slowly.
Come to think of it, the condition could cause an issue in writing characters. You ever heard of this?

I know what does dyslexia mean, I just never heard any Chinese has such problem...
dyslexia exists in china as much as in the west but perhaps they put it down to bad behaviour that needs firm dealing with just the way that it used to be dealt with in the west. But the more support children have no matter what their difficulties are the better options they will have as adults......
