Q: does having an acceptance receipt mean I get to stay here?

my new visa...  in one day they gave me this paper and it all looks good.....  accepted, but it has no expiry date and they are keeping my passport for a week (i.e. no expedite this thing .........  see you Dec.14)...  ..

BHGAL, please, who is the "they"?  Is it the Guangzhou PSB?  a visa agent?  an agent in Hong Kong?

guangzhou PSB I think....the fancy office in Guangzhou at Jiefang Nan ..  passport office

That's the Entry and Exit PSB folks.  They should have given you a white sheet of paper which contains the date on which you can retrieve your passport and the kind of visa that you will be granted and its duration.

yes that is what I expected..got the paper.... and it is fine........  except for the duration, just isn't there ........... and the type of visa, maybe it is just in Chinese, but it isn't there in English.  resident extension is all it should be ...  no work .....but the online application did say business ................  ah shit, I could confuse this stuff as much as the |chinese do
