Q: Does it all ever make sense?

Was just down to see if any new saxophone playing Santa's has shown up since yesterday, and then it dawned to me.

IT MAKES PERFECT SENSE THAT PEDESTRIANS WALK ON THE ROAD.

See, the thing is, as I was crossing the road, a school-bus came on the bike-path opposite the direction of traffic on that side of the road. I sure as heck wouldn't want to bike there, and I am not the only one with that thought because on the side-walk was a dude biking. So when sidewalks are occupied by two-wheeled vehicles, and bike-paths of four-wheeled, then it makes perfect sense to walk on the road.

Did you ever have similar epiphanies ?

And then you saw the pedestrians on the bike path and your vision of perfect order was shattered.

I think if a human mind were to comprehend, in its entirety, the profound and senseless chaos that is Chinese society, the experience would have the same effect as encountering Cthulhu.

You perfectly put into words what life in china is to the expat soul. Only the Old Ones can be behind this level of irrational chaos.

What's right is what's left when all else is done wrong. It either makes perfect sense........or perfect nonsense.

Of course I walk on the road, so many places use indoor marble tile for their sidewalks that are as slippery as s*** when wet.

Why indoor tile for an outside public sidewalk?  Because the indoor tile factory owner offered the biggest kickback to the government official responsible for making the decision/recommendation, duh!

Gee I thought that tile thing was an honest error......and was restricted to my city.

Okay it snowed. It snowed a lot. So, what do all those hundreds of street cleaners do? Well they hack the ice of the roads in big clumps and shovel the excess snow off the road and they put it......put it......of course, there's that initiative I was looking for. They dump it on the sidewalks don't they? So 4 to 5 foot piles of impassable snow on the footpaths means? We all get to walk on the road which means? Even more honking of horns by drivers at the stupid pedestrians who are walking on the road!!!

You know it's not all this that gets me. It's the blind acceptance of 'that's how it is'! Put up with it!

I am glad we don't have snow here. It would add too much to the chaos on the streets.
