Q: Does the perfect restaurant exist in China?
Not considering Guide Michelin ratings as a parameter but just what us normals think of the dining experience.
It seems there is always something wrong in restaurants. I find that some may serve perfect food, may have good service, but then the table cloth is dirty and they screw up the payment.
Do you frequent any restaurants that consistently deliver on all areas of the experience. I have yet to find such a place, even the pricier places don't mind using tablecloths with holes or something.
Honestly, yes 
As in : we enjoyed the food, the place was clean and enjoyable, the service was good. A vegetarian restaurant, West bank of Jin Li Lake in Suzhou. Also, in Chengdu, a quite fancy vegetarian restaurant in the downtown area.
My most common complain is that it's often dirty, but years in Asia and love of food taught me to close my eyes. Greasy tables, bones on the table and floor, dust, I'm sure everybody got the picture in mind. The same thing in Europe would make people run away. I've good memories from small mom & pop shops in countryside towns everywhere in China. Fancy places in cities are often a let-down in Jiangsu. Vegetarians restaurants tend to be (much) cleaner, for some reason.
As long as a restaurant caters to locals, it will always disappoint for a reason or another, no matter the price.
