Q: Does pizza hut in China use real cheese on their pizzas?

Im suspicious of the cheese used in pizza hut. There's something artificial tasting about it. I did some research and found that many restaurants use fake cheese made from veg oils and other bad stuff, so it wouldn't surprise me if pizza hut does the same. Any ideas?

As i have tried only twice there, almost nothing is real, except vegetable. I hate that " meat balls" i got on thick "pizza" with some crazy mayo-cheese . arrrgh.  can not understand why chinese are waiting also 2  hrs in front of the door to get in and eat that very bad copy of "western food".

I ate there about two weeks ago (Guangdong), I was sooooo close to sending the 'pizza' back. I was shocked. At first I think there is no pizza sauce, but I did see some, so....  It was like they put on the least amount they could. Same with the cheese, the least amount possible.  I darn sure don't think it is real cheese. Thanks, Chinese Pizza Hut for serving the lamest Pizza I've ever had! Wow, the slices from Jusco are better !  seriously, they are.

I was not expecting hi-quality pizzar, but that was basically serving warm pizza bread. funny thing is their prices are high too!

We just (finally..) got a Pizza Hut in my little town.  Ate there a couple times already.  Cheese seemed real to me?  Pizza was served hot and fresh...the cheese was gooey, stringy....delicious I dare say.  I'm still preferential to Papa Johns, or one of the western expat pubs that serve pizza...but those are an hour away from me.

Pizza mmnnn, what I would do for one now......but pizza hut, that is the worst of all those crappy chains, dominos etc etc. proper pizza is much much nicer....Italy and South of France, pizza heaven.

In China, I heard they used smelly bean curd as a substitute for cheese?

Definitely is not. The "cheese" they use comes in big bottles (5 kgs each) looks like butter and smells too bad when raw & in the bottle. Once cooked & mixed with all the ingredients the smell changes.

Just guess, will a commercial brand use real cheese when they are located in a place where locals don't know anything about pizza?

Lolitta2:

Dude that's gross. Did you actually see those 5kg containers?

I don't think anything is real there. I recently paid a visit to the aforementioned den of iniquity, and the pizza -- if you can call it that -- nearly had me ralphing on the attendants. I'd rather have a cement truck come and attach a chute to my mouth, and then start pouring liquid rock into my oral cavity.

The cheese tasted like cardboard-seasoned plastic garnished with a used pair of underwear that was left fermenting overnight in a sweat lodge. As for the sauce..I have no idea why anyone would cook a pizza without it.

I'm never going back. I'd sooner chop off my limbs, and flop in hot cement, than allow such a worthless restaurant to bask in the glory of my foreign aura.

The fake cheese would not be so bad if they put some fake sauce on the pizza.
