Off my head, I would say no. There are enough evidence that some sand drawings originated in India between religious sects, and from there jumped to Tibet. But there are also evidence of sand drawings in South America (Argentina, Peru, Mexico), and other parts of the world (Europe). I would say it will be very hard to determine it, as very similar words are used to describe it, like sand finger lines, sand paintings, sand sculptures, sand drawings, etc.
