Q: Does the smog from Beijing carry over to the Great Wall? Or is it far enough away

I would love to run the Great Wall (if it's legal, of course) when I'm in Beijing. Is the air quality better there than in Beijing? Maybe even... cleaner? Or is that too much to hope for? I know it's at a higher altitude, and hopefully that in itself cleans up the air some.

Well there are a lot of people on the great wall and there won't be a lot of room to run, for you. But it's pretty clean air over there.

it's been a few years since I've been there, but the sections I've seen had clean air for China. And shuai's whole lot of people thing... it's only in the small tourist areas. Just pick a direction and walk hard for 30 mins (hour depending on the spot you start) and you've got barely any people around. Go for another 30 and it's like you got the wall to yourself.
