The "singers" are not that common here, but the people carrying a portable noise player that will distort even the nicest of tones beyond recognition is very common. People will stroll along the sidewalks with those cranked up as much as possible in an attempt to block out the noise from traffic and other people with these horrible things. I do the same with my iPod, but get it in stereo and I do not "share"

Generally people are very active when they are out. There is lots of places with organized dancing at night, in the morning there is a couple of groups of older women that do some dancing, in full colorful clothing swinging fans around

Lots of singers here.  Mostly it's the same dudes that like screaming down their phones that then start singing the latest Chinese or K-pop songs (I presume).

I like it. Being from Soviet Canuckistan where people are super uptight about that kind of thing I like that kind of thing. 

I like it as well, considering how generally Chinese people work very hard, it's good to see them sing and do such recreational activities. I live in a school where the older generation in the early morning have their small portable 'public' radios playing traditional music as they take their morning walks, and the youngsters sing out loud on their bikes on their way to school. Haha of course if the song is started right behind you you can get a bit alarmed or think someone is trying to 'talk' (shout) at you only to realise it's just a song . I like the 'freedom to sing'.  Unlike most of us, we usually only sing in the shower or when home-alone, when you are sure nobody is listening.....

I know my wife is happy when she's quietly humming her way around the house or out on a walk ......... The girl singing while washing and cutting my hair was great....... I like it when they sing!!
