Q: Down payment of home if it is the second home of my wife but my first home in Jinan?

My wife is Chinese I am American.  3 years ago she put her name on a house in Chengdu.  Now we want to buy a home in Jinan close to her family.  Normally this is my first home in China and it is our first home since we marry.  But because it is her second home I herd I had to have 60% of the homes down paymen.  That is a lot of money and I am not sure how to get this kind of money so quick,,,,, I can not get a loan in america for China home........  Is it true i need 60%

I've never heard of that sort of percentage...it could be true but I doubt it. Usually the seller will make adjustments and will try to make a deal with you. I think normally the seller wants 60% but deals can always be made if they know your serious and that you will be on time with your payments!

If you're American, why do you write like a Chinese person? And yet this is the sort of post an actual American would write. I'm confused...

property records are by province. jinan does not know about her property in chengdu unless her national id number is own the documents. for a second home , a large down payment is required , i have been told 50 percent and the interest rate will be higher. best bet is put it in her mom or dads name and make a will that it passes to her in estate. this avoids the large payment and higher rate.

Scandinavian:

there is an inheritance tax for properties over 5million CNY, nothing that will be a problem for most right now, but after a couple of burst estate bubbles and some inflation prices for most apartments could be upwards that.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
