Q: Is Dr Spock Chinese?
Just curious, what do you think: was Dr Spock, Gene Roddenberry's comment on the Chinese 'logic' mentality? The features of the actor chosen to play the part and the hair and all, could be construed as intending to look Asian, though the character himself was obviously not.
Not wishing to offend any Chinese who read this, I like Dr Spock, he's cool, with that hand thing and all that. Like I said, i'm just curious what people think.

Download the Original series of Star Trek or, if you find that rather tedious, then download the latest Star Trek movie. I guarantee you will find this method much more fun than listening to us describe this rather interesting character.

Spock has had various titles throughout his long Career. Lt, Lt Commander, Commander, Captain, Ambassador.
However, as far as I know, he has never used the tilte of "Dr".
As to his origins:
Spock is Vulcan and half human.
Leonard Nimoy, who played Spock is of Russian-Jewish origin.
Zachary Quinto is of Italian ancestry.

Oh, now 'that' movie was cool. But anyway, you've all missed my point, I know he wasn't supposed to be Asian, of course not, they'd have got an Asian actor if he was. I was actually thinking on a slightly more subtle level than that. As littlemick said, wayyy too much time on my hands.
'Doctor' Spock was an expert in child development in the USA. Need I say more?

I always preferred Captain Kirk. I also liked Captain Cisco, who had the coolest job in the universe (Captain of the Defiant, Commander of DS-9, Religious Leader, Military Governor and Demigod like being at the end) and Captain Archer.

Dr Spock, the real American child psychologist, and Mr Spock, the fictitious TV/movie character, are two totally different pop culture figures. Confusing the two seems to show a lack of knowledge of western culture.
