Q: Drinking digestifs after meals?

Is it common for people to drink something after meals? Lots of countries have relatively strong, shot-based digestifs, and I was wondering if that'd be something completely puzzling to Chinese.

In China it is very common to drink a heavy liquor, commonly known as Baiju or Maotai, with the meal.  Digestifs are practically unknown to the locals.  After 6 years, I have never seen one offered or discussed.

Personally, every time I see people mix a fine brandy with sprite, I want to cry.

Indeed! Everyone knows that brandy is to be mixed with 7-Up!
