Q: Dumplings - which province is famous for which jiaozi?

I've tasted lots of different jiaozi but I'd be incapable of saying where they're famous for...

I've had the normal ones, the fried ones, ones with soup inside, etc. Any jiaozi experts out there?

You can find all sorts of Jiaozi in Beijing. I would say it would be there. I've seen all types of restaurants that have them. Anywhere you go in the city you should be able to find some good Jiaozi so I would say it is Beijing.

Not an expert, but in Hunan, some folks have pointed out that pork dumplings are very famous as being from here. They are very thin, and of course, being Hunan, are served with a very hot pepper sauce to dip them in. There is a local place we go to that has been open forever, and the dumplings are excellent.

However, it could just be a case of "local pride," as I'm sure that pork jiaozi have been created in other provinces, too.
