Q: Electric car in China, license required?
Do you need a driving license for electric cars here? Some countries do, some don't. Can't seem to find any info about China.
I cannot say with 100% certainty, but i am fairly confident in saying yes you do. In most instances its not the method of propulsion that indicates if you need a license but the speed/power of that vehicle and where they are allowed to go.
Which is why for a motorbike you need a license but in some places an electric scooter does not. As they have speed limiters and are banned from certain areas.
Is it possible to find a certain old plug in car that wouldnt need a license? Perhaps. But doubtful. But if your buying a real car like a BYD or a Tesla for example then yes. You definitely need a license
May I ask in what countries you are referring to in which one would not need a license for an electric car???
