How much for a decent, reliable electric scooter in Hefei, China?
If you have to ask, you can't afford it.
They are cheap as chips.
If you can't afford chips, then you can't afford an ebike.
But if you can afford a flight to China, and can afford to pay for a work experience, why not just buy an SUV?
Honestly. I visit the GoKunming forum often. Lots of ebikes for sale there. Blankets. Beds. Badminton rackets. Climbing ropes and dreadlocks.
If you want a bike. Just go buy. If 2.5k RMB is too rich, what the fuck are you doing in China?

I don't know for scooter's price in China. I personally look at scooters only if woman is behind the 'wheel'.

I guess, it's similar price anywhere in China. Have a walk&look at scooter's store in Hefei. They might have scooter's price displayed ...I'd say.... buTT...you never know in China.
You can get a cheap and nasty one for about 1750 RMB. A nice one for about 3,500 to 4,000. Take a Chinese friend, if they have guanxi with the store owner all the better.

The shops are all the same. Come on. You go to "scooter city" and claim Guanxi to get a 200rmb discount... They will tell you to go to the next shop. Buy from a shop with a dirty workshop. The price is the same. About 2500 rmb. But the dirty workshop indicates it has been there for at least 2 weeks.

If you're foreign they will do their best to rip you off. I bought a nice ebike, a reputable brand, for 2,600. A friend went to the same shop, minus the guanxi, and was charged 3,700 for exactly the same bike. I'm reasonably experienced at haggling and I think my friend was less inclined.

I bought an electric kick scooter instead. You can fold it and bring it anywhere - office, bus, whatever. It rules! Goes 30 km/hr and about the same distance on a single battery charge.
It can take around 100 kg on. Weighs about 12 kg. This one is made in Israel, 4000 kuai.
Chinese ones are half that but this one is amazing....and safe

The best ones have space for a sheep up front, a hidden space for heroin in the back, and a very special attachment that churns out a half inch of sausage for every pedal stroke.
The normal ones cost about 2.5k. They give you a day of adventure for an overnight charge.
Mine cost 6k. But mine came with a sheep and a sausage maker
