Q: Electronics in Hong Kong

I plan on going to Hong Kong and wanna buy GoPro and other electronics there - anyone knows where to buy them in HK at good prices? I need advice from those who's successfully shopped there before. Thanks!

In case you just want a Go Pro (Hero 5 Black Camera), then a no fuss purchase is obviously the Apple shop. They deliver to PRC too. Standard price. May accept mail order. Not much savings even if you turn the whole place upside down as we are talking ~ rmb 2900+.  See if this helps? http://apple.co/2ge3xH4

I see. Well I just wonder why so many people fly to HK for cheaper goods then.

fortress n broadway r two reputd electronic stores. fixd prices, genuine goods wth proper warranties.

u wil find both in causeway bay, hk side.

diverdude1:

I second that on Fortress. I like the idea of buying from small mom 'n pops but truth is you are taking your chances doing so,,,   black-market w/ no warranty; seconds; shan zhai....

That said, sometimes there is nothing wrong with hot goods, or even fakes,,, if you pay a  cheap price and understand the situation.

I've bought several laptops and monitors over the last few years from the Fortress shop in the mall across from the Shim Shui Train Station exit. You can use the overhead stairs to reach it.  I think it's on the 3rd floor. Be aware that electronics purchased (Apple, HP, etc.) in HK generally come with an HK power cord. You may need to purchase an adapter for the Chinese mainland. They also tend to give several small, inexpensive gifts with any major purchase. If you're purchasing a phone check to insure it will work with your mainland cellular carrier.
