Q: Emergency Pasport Visa Problem!
Quick Question!
I work legally here in China and have my residency permit valid until July 2014. I am scheduled to take my winter holiday back in the US next week Wednesday. The cover of my passport was slightly torn, and I suspect I may have to get an emergency passport. I know the US Embassy can issue an emergency Passport valid for one year. I have an appointment at the US Embassy for consultation and was told they can give me one on the same day if it is an emergency and if I have an impending trip. My worry is the Chinese visa part.A- Can I in just two days get the temporary visa to go home next week, and then come back to China in February and then, once back in China change the temporary passport to permanent and get the new residence permit/ z visa once back in China? B- Or, do I need to get a temporary visa from the Entry/Exit bureau allowing me to leave the country and then once in the US get my "permanent" passport in USA and while over there change the temporary visa to working visa (during my one month holiday) (invitation letter, good conduct certificate all sent to China's embassy in Wash DC) knowing it may take more than one month to sort out? Or, am I screwed? I want to do this honestly and legally so as to not have any trouble at all. Thanks!
