What sites do you guys use? I know Hulu etc, but they are slow at updating shows and some are only available to premium subscribers.
Which sites update regularly, have fast loading times and have a bunch of British TV? I'd prefer British but American shows are also ok.
Thanks in advance!

I would tell you if I know an easy approach. such websites are shut down when they get big because of copyright issues . my suggestion is you can try all the main video websites:tencent video ,Sohu video, youku video ,tudou.com ,暴风影音,pplive.com ,PPS . they purchase the copyrights of American or British shows before broadcasting them .
Rin:
Thanks. A Chinese friend mentioned PPS. Do I have to download or install anything? I try to avoid downloading any Chinese programmes. They always bug up my laptop.
Nessquick:
yes, u have to download and accept to download lot of other shit. I saw in my wifes comp a nd she always ask, please help me, i downloaded this and now i have thios and this and can not do this and this ...
sorry I can't add a comment with this browser I'm using now . I understand you don't want to install a Chinese software.
I haven't used PPS for a long time . I'll just tell you what I know :
youku purchased tudou two years ago . they haven't been combined yet so they still have independent video sources.
Baidu just bought PPS a few weeks ago this summer . 爱奇艺 and 百度影音(Baidu player )are both owned by Baidu Corp. Baidu has abundant money ,and the copyrights of shows are expensive .
every video provider(all I listed in the post above ) wants you to install their program on your computer,as a method to occupy market . they promote this by providing extra features to the desktop program users, for example if you want to speed the loading process ,or download the video .
暴风影音 and 百度影音 can't be streamed online . you have to install its program . I am not sure about PPS but probably it's the same as them.
youku and Baidu are Corps on NASDAQ. a video company has to be rich to buy a numbers of shows.
tencent video ,youku ,tudou.com ,Sohu video can for sure be streamed online without having to install any program.
if you use apple devices,I don't think there would be privacy issues you need to worry about when you install such apps .
I know you asked about streaming but have you thought about downloading from torrent files. I access all mine through either Kickass torrents or Torrentfunk, you can find the sites on the web, and never had a problem with either of these. I had tried using PPS in the past but like all Chinese programs it leaves a hell of a lot of crap on your computer. I have also tried streaming via Youkou and Sohu but found them to be good sometimes but very jerky other times. THe other thing I like about the torrent sites is that they let you find older stuff that does not come up on the sites like Sohu, for instance I am currently downloading the complete series of The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits. Current stuff comes up pretty quickly, for instance I am have just started to get the latest episode of Under The Dome.
Rin:
Oh I'm loving Under the Dome!
Yeah, I sometimes use torrent sites, but my problem is the 500 gb in my laptop is almost all used up. That was the reason I wanted to stream.
Thanks for the tips.
cooter:
+1 for torrents. I just hammered through the first 3 seasons of True Blood. Season 4 starts tonight
Scandinavian:
If your hard drive is full get an external USB drive or delete some porn
Rin:
Haha, Scan, I don't keep porn on my HD, I stream that!
Yeah I'm gonna buy an external HD, but I don't want a Chinese brand.
haha nessquick you're right . it's often like that : when someone installs a video player program ,most people just click next all the way till the installation is done . then they find the newly installed player is now set as their default media player . then they find there is a new browser program on their desktop . when they open that new browser they find it's already set as their default browser . when they open other browsers they find an add-on or search tool bar is added there without any reminding . when they exit the video player they find that the computer still has uploading traffic which sneakily unloads the files in the disk :the backstage p2p service never stops unless they use task management to enforce it . when they're enjoying watching a movie ,an advertisment pops up at the right down corner :that's the video player trying to promotes something else .
I'm surprised to see nobody mentioning kankan.com also known as xunlei.com. It does require a download or two but there's no garbage (that I am aware of) coming with it.
