Q: Is the English version of the Chinese driving theory test really difficult?

Has anyone taken the theory test for a Chinese drivers license here? Are the questions really stupid and difficult to figure out? I heard there's a lot of Chinglish in the test.

I've failed it 3 times. Some of the questions I simply have no idea how to answer, in some cases all 4 options in the multiple choice part sounds the same.

The theory is "normal" think how people drive back home, not how people drive in China.

Not to worry. The emotional stress from not being able to pass a theory test is a lot bigger than that of a dow nvote. By the way. For the motor-vehicle test, the going rate for up voting yourself to pass is 6000RMB

Due to a bad translation, the answers were probably all the same, you just had to pick the correct number because the guy that checks them can't read Enlish. I've read so many signs that are written in Enlish and don't make sense.

It's computerized. The computer will show you a big "YOU FAIL" sign when you answer the last question

the instructors at the test center says to always go for the answer with most characters, but this is where the English translation screws you over

The book doesn't tell you that a hood ornament is a targeting system and if you can park  a car already then you are not ready to drive in China.

I've heard it's not based on skill, but knowledge of fines.

I passed the China driving theory test in 2007, it's strict and simple,  but has many contents to remember, however not difficult.  Just to select one answer from 4 or 5 options. All of them is to let the test participants remember traffic regulations and traffic signs. So the best way is to memorize and practice the test before you take the formal test. It is required to pass 90% of the questions. I passed all driving test in 2008, and now I held a driving license for 5 years.

Anyway, if need a drive in Dongguan, call me: 13751361427,or skypeme:henry.yuan79

The questions are not that difficult, the problem relies on the way they are translated into English.  It makes them hard to understand or figure differences between multiple choice.  You must get 90 out of 100 questions right to pass.

I will also pass on to you the advise given to me by a close dear friend from England who has lived here for 15 years. "Take the test in Chinese, bring a translator with you into the exam room, make sure he does have a driver's license, and do not bothr to translate, just point out the right answers. If you pass the test, he/she will get paid.

It cost me 200 Rmb to pass mine, and thyat is how I did it.
