Yes to both, scratch cards and both lotteries.  But if you play because you need extra money, you will waste time and money.  I do it because my GF enjoysw nit, and never had enough cash to do it previously.  So, sometimes sh selcts one set of numbers, and I do another set, and we see who can guess the most numbers.  So far, it is me with 4 out of 7, for as 40 yuan payback on a 4 yuan bet.  With scratch tickets, we have won 10 yuan prizes many times, once a 50 yuan price.  Again, we do it for fun, and it is not in perue of a fortune.  It is also cheaper than going to Starbucks for a cup of coffee and a pie.  We spend maybe 50 to 70 yuan per week on these two, and so far we are just about even.

I never tried that here, but I did buy one of those in L.A. last time I was there. I believe I won 5 dollars off of a 1 dollar card. That paid for my lunch that afternoon...

TedDBayer:

What city was that ? The only cities I see in China that start with LA are Laibin, Lanzhou, Langfang, Laohekou, Laixi, Laiwu, Laiyang, Laizhou, Lanxi, ?

There is also Labia Minora and Labia Majora but I'm sure that you have never been there any more than you have been to Los Angeles.

I buy lotteries sometimes for fun,but only once won 5 RMB.And actually i won nothing,as there were three friends with me at that time, they asked me to celebrate as that was the first time i won a lottery. So,i bought each of them an ice cream and then bought the other lottery only to win nothing.Compared with me,one of my friends was really lucky,he actually made a profit though he just bought lotteries for fun.One day when we were walking in the East Lake park in Wuhan,a bird shit on his clothes while flying away,my friend thought he was in bad luck,so he went to buy a lottery and turned out to win 50 yuan.He won 50 yuan again a few day later. And he won 10 yuan for many times.I was quite jealous of him.

A:Your potential employer is right! Purpose of the Medical exam before granting Z visa is to make sure, you won't be entering China in any abnormal and harmful to others condition.Few days after your arrival to China, you'll be required to complete another ME ... If ME in China will be OK, you'll get a Residence permit stamp into your book some 10-days afterwards. Imagine, you're an employer, who can sponsor my entry and work in China, but after my arrival to China would be found I carry some sickness, which would prevent Chinese .gov to issue a Residence permit. Rule is: Z visa should be converted into Residence permit in 30-days after entry to China.    So, my advice is:"Complete ME in your home country and forward medical results to your employer".Z visa grant will follow shortly afterwards. Employer is not wrong at their demand for the pre-arrival ME from your home country hospital.   -- icnif77
