Hello everyone!
I'm Yoshi from New York/ New Jersey, US. I am looking for people between 18 to 99 year-old who would like to exchange knowledge. For instance, I usually discuss hot topics (politics, history, and stereotypes) or normal topics (art, music, environment, martial arts, etc.) with people around the world. I believe knowledge is one of the most precious things that one person can achieve in life; after all, just having a little knowledge, one can travel around world! Anyway, if you feel that your English is not good, it is okay for me, as far as you can express your opinion, we will understand each other very well. I am very open mind person, but at the same time I am neutral. Overall, I am 27 year-old.
Thank you for reading my post and for your precious time!
P.S: you can text me here or send a message to my email : kensh1_l2@hotmail.com.
If you are American, why do you use goofy Chinese "cultural exchange" language?
People from the West simply talk about things, rather than establishing the awkward pretext of "cultural exchange" (which reveals that you are from a socially/politically/culturally isolated country like CHINA).
"Overall, I am 27 year-old."
Priceless.
RandomGuy:
Haha, spot on. Chinese are super awkward due to their cultural isolation. I see it everyday, they think they are right and that their way is the best but they are just being obnoxious aholes. They have no idea on how to interact in a "normal" way with other people. I mean just look at the way they stare at anyone who looks different or catcall Foreigners or treat people in a completely different manner depending on your race and skin shade. They lack cultural references and awareness to engage in trending topics and no one gives a damn about their Chinese talks since "Foreigners can't understand Chinese culture" as they like to remind us, so no one cares about their Chinese stuff. Chinese are basically cut off from the rest of the world. Our world is a global village, except for China and a bunch of other isolationist countries. China and Chinese are alone in this world and no one cares about their trends or topics or "ways" of doing things that are profoundly incompatible with the rest of the world.

Yoshi, you could get all the exchange you want by asking questions and joining discussions at an obscure website such a www.echinacities.com
I think I can understand your points of view as an "immigrant." Also, I respect it. The reason is because not only the United States use as an excuse "culture exchange" to make business around the world, it also do it other first countries.
However, I was born in Peru ( I am not Latino/Hispanic). And I lived in New Jersey, US since 2010.
For me "culture exchange" works very well. Because when I lived in Peru, it helped me a lot to understand other cultures. In this case, I have a different concept about Chinese. In my humble perspective, I consider them as people with a lot of knowledge as other countries as well.
Obviously, if one wants to meet people or live in a different country, the person must know about their culture at least. Everything is about mutual respect, and that is why I have been fortunate to meet several cultures and wonderful people.
Nevertheless, around 13% of Peruvian population are Peruvian-Chinese, and the President Chinese Xi Jinping was in APEC Peru 2016.
I expect you judge me for my principles and not for other reasons. Besides, it is good to have friends around the world, believe me ^^/
nzteacher80:
I asked two of my Chinese colleagues to name a country in North America. They both agreed on Italy.
Chinese people have less knowledge about the world than Americans living in the mid-west, and that is saying something. No offence intended to any Americans from the mid-west but I don't expect a response as it's hard to type with webbed fingers.
Englteachted:
You don't fool me, because you said New York/ New Jersey. If you really did live in NJ since 2010 then you'd know better.

Without checking the dictionary, what is your definition of friend?
icnif77:
Always, when somebody calls me 'my friend', I run away!
It had never happened somebody would say 'my friend, here is 100 bucks for you!' .... but always 'my friend-o, give me this or give me that ....'.
This isn't out of the dictionary .
I think you will find that most posters on this site are English speakers already and in no need to learn English.
If you want to connect with Chinese for this purpose maybe try another site, as the purpose of this site is mainly about life and chat in China.
i believe that most posters here are well able to 'make friends' on their own.
And don't include any contact information in public, as you will be swamped by cranks and scammers.
Chinese culture...
A) It's not what you'll read about in western media or press.
B) it's not what you'll read about in Chinese media or press.
C) it is what you'll read about on ECC and other expat forums - although the mainlanders would really wish it wasn't. BUT... also realise that a lot (most? All?? of use here are pretty jaded).
Try Wechat or QQ for cultural exchange.
You will find what you are looking for !!
