Q: Exercise when pollution is bad?

What do you guys do in terms of physical exercise when the pollution in your city is bad? I think I will have to get an air filter and do exercise from videos online.

Rather watch people doing exercise on TV, it is healthier.  If the pollution doesn't get you, the traffic will.

I exercise in a gym. I know the air comes from outside so it probably doesn't make a lot of difference with the tiny particles that get into the lungs but on days when I can see, smell and taste the noxious air it's at least better indoors.

And really, what else is there you can do? I'm not going to give up exercising.

There are lots of exercises you can do at home. I know you are still getting some of the pollution but it is not as bad. I used to jog but the pollution really does get to you. Sit ups, press ups and weights are my main way of exercising now. If you live in an apartment building try walking up and down the stairs a few times. Great for your legs and heart.

A:I'll give my two cents on the age part. It's not as easy but can definitely be done. I was 21, fresh out of university and landed my first teaching job in china as a homeroom kindergarten teacher on a pretty standard 20,000/month salary. I'm 1 year in now and am still happy. Pretty much all international kindergarten jobs on here want 2 years experience, but many will still accept if you have experience in your home country. With that being said, being white and having a nice looking face is much more of a decision factor in china vs the west, if you can- use it to your advantage. Good luck finding something! -- brinsleym
