What do you want to know?
I actually convert shipping containers as a hobby.
im onto my second one and should be finished in a couple of weeks.
the trick is planning the layout.
pm me if you would like to have detailed discussion about them.

i designed my last home in the U.S. The prefab company was kind enough to accommodate me.
I actually looked into this option in China. The problem is finding land.

Advantages: 1. Quality is easily standarized and consistent. Codes are more stringently followed. 2. Can be built very quickly 3. Usually cheaper (all other things being equal)

Disadvantages: 1. Still a relatively specialized type of construction on the site. 2. Limited design choices (which is why I designed my own), but this is becoming less of a problem, especially in China.

After it is transported and secured on the foundation, and utilities hooked up, you can move right in and there no difference than a traditionally constructed home.

did u hv to buy any extras locally or fty provided everythin' needed ?

how is the shelf life of the prefab house ?

xinyuren:

I had the option of buying everything at the factory and just move in, but since this was a custom house, I just needed the factory to build a bare frame. I finished the house on the inside and installed my own siding. Most prefab companies can do the whole construction for you. Everything is inspected at the factory except for plumbing and electrical hookups to the city supply facilities. Its very likely to be even easier in China. You need not buy anything except furnishings.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
