Q: Extending my residence permit/working visa

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone knows what documents I would need to extend my residence permit. or if there is a website that has all the up to date info. Is a health check still required for the extension?

Thanks

Hi

Welcome to China, ye just about to finish your first contract? Well, you are NOT the one to do any of this, I'm more surprised that you "think" you are the one who is allowed to do this as lone solider. No No No.

1. You sign a new contract with your school or company.

2. The school or company will take your FEC to be renewed, again, not your job, its their job to renew it, I would resign from any company that would make me do it myself.

3. After all is said and done with the FEC then you' go with a school or company staff member to the PSB for an interview, they (the staff) will have some pretty important company documents that you can only dream of touching that will allow you to renew your Resident Permit at the PSB.

4. After the interview, go back to work or home, wait 3 weeks and there you go, you'll get new RP ( Resident permit.).

Health check again? seeing how only 3 cities require this, I'd say you have a good chance not needed it again. Next time state the city and province you're working in, I could answer better.

Hi guys

I need to switch my M visa to a Z visa a school want to hire me but they want me to go to south korea to do all the procedure I wonder if I should follow what they said or why can't I go to HK??

Eorthisio:

Are you in Northern China (Beijing, Shanghai, ...)? If so South Korea will be cheaper and closer tham HK, Seoul is a cheaper place to stay in than HK, some people also go to Mongolia, Japan, Vietnam or Thailand to get their working visa. You can not switch from business (M) to working visa (Z) while in China, your situation is different from op, you must exit the country to get a working visa unless your company has extremely good guanxi (connections / relations) with some high ranking official.

However this is the company's responsibility to collect and apply for the required documents before you go to South Korea, do not go there without those documents, and make sure the invitation letter states that you must apply for your visa in South Korea and not in your home country.

Yes South Korea would be the right method or Hong Kong. But make sure the invite letter is address to the country or Government your going to.

You need to go back to your country for obtaining the Z legal visa, not on Korea or HK ! If they send you in Korea, probably they do this with an agent and it is not legal documents what they provide ! So, be careful ! What you have to do, is ask them to provide to you all the necessary documents for a Z visa , normally they should pay also the fee for this too , and give to you work contract, and what else is need, then you back to your country, take Z visa which will have 30 days , then here in Beijing you have to go with other documents from this school and probably a staff from them who will provide them original documents from that school ( as registration certificate, etc.)  and in this way you apply for Resident Permit.  You can't do all this steps in Korea or HK !  Half work need do in your country a half here in Beijing to PSB !  Take care , most of kind of fake  schools here ( and there are soooo many) will apply for Z visa with some agents , which provide not legal documents !  In case you will have a control later,  your visa will be canceled , maybe you will be fired also ( they will think you applied illegal) .  If you have all the chance for a Z visa , find a government school, not a small training center Avoid this small centers as most of them work illegal here and it will make you only troubles and tell you only lies... .

This can be done in HK.

You can ask to see Government foreigner hire authorization booklet, which School must hold, if they want to sponsor Z visa. It's a bit thicker, same format as FEC booklet with red Chinese stamps everywhere.

Read this Board often. You'll learn thing or two.

i wonder what kind of fake Z visa possibly exists ? Maybe you've meant that they say they provide Z visa, and then will do another type once you come over to PRC

When you have the Resident Permit, which it is 1 year , then you have work visa for 1 year.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
