Q: Fake alcohol in China?
I've been told many times that some Chinese people recycle liquor bottles, refil them and sell them again. My Chinese friend bought a bottle of Jack Daniels for 388 rmb. We couldn't drink it: it tasted like white wine mixed with cheap whisky. Has this happened to anyone else?
As far as I know, it's a pretty common problem in China, maybe even more than fake money. It can even happen with a bottle bought at a grocery store.
i heard about the counterfeiting and just avoiding the foreign high priced brands but surprisingly ran into counterfeit domestic beer.
remember where you are hehehe. i cant go into detail because my post would be deleted. remember , anything and everything could be counterfeit including women
I have experienced the fake whiskey. But either way, the foreign whiskey that's in China all tastes different anyway!

The Jim Beam is good and not a big target to be counterfeited.
businessmen are all dishonest, the businessman to earn money will do anything, and China's food problems as well.
The local whiskey tastes like boot polish remover, if it is imported it should have the usual custom seals etc on the bottle and absolutly no Chinese writing at all.trouble is the Chinese don't understand western liquor, so they think it is okay because of the brand name.
If I was you, buy it from the biggest supermarkets like Aunchan as they will give your money back if not satisfied. I buy my cheese from this supermarket and it is the real deal
