Q: Favorite place to relax in China?

Other than at the comfort of your home what place have you felt fully relaxed in China?

For me it is difficult to find a place like this due to the tourist places being to crowded. But the place that I could get away from it all was Qinghai lake.

Since I do love the sea, to me one of my favorite places is either Sanya, in Hainan Island, or BeiHai, on the South China Sea coastline.   And yes, during holidays those two get real crowded, hard to find good accomodations.  But since I do not really work, and my GF is her own boss, we can take off anytime we wish to do so, and we have found it to be real nice and relaxing when not so crowded.

Besides, off the traditional holidays, we can always find a package with a substantial discount, which makes it even better in her eyes.

Besides the bar?
I would have to say Qingyuan north of Guangzhou.  It is beatiful, the air is actually clean, it's in the mountains, there are not alot of people, and it has tons of natural hot springs.  It's a wonderful get away from the city life for a few days, and a romantic place to escape with a gf.

Not a place as such but a favourite way for me to relax is going for a walk on a summer evening and just taking in the locals dancing, exercising, playing games or the like in one of the many parks where I live. I just stroll around do some exercise on some of the equipment, grab a snack or two and it just puts me in a nice place mentally most of the time. It is one of the few times where everything seems to be in harmony with no contradictions.

Don't get me wrong I am convinced that I get off on the the chaos in China  most of the time but after a day a battling the hoards I find my evening strolls a great wind down.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
