The question about degrading people because of noodles and money saving etc really makes me crave noodles... What are your favourite noodles? Sorry I am on a boring food/drink in China question roll, apparently!
My favorite is the rice noodles served in Guilin with horse meat.
I'm a fan of the noodles in the Muslim restaurants, like the lanzhou noodle places. Not the skinny noodles but the flat thick ones.
If i'm gonna order a standard 蛋炒__ . Then it'll probably be 河粉. I do partake in a bit of Lanzhou action too though.
cold noodles from street sellers… liang mian. higher risk of bowel problems, but tastier and with a bit of fresh veggies.
The thick noodles served at Hui people's restaurants, usually with lamb cuts and veggies bites. Cheap and delicious.
The Huimian from Henan (either mutton or seafood) is not only my favorite noodle dish, but also my favorite Chinese food. I could eat it every night.
So many different mian dishes out here in Xinjiang. Stacks of them. I think xiao zi mian is my fave. It's almost like a soupy stew...has real vegetables in it. Potatoes and carrots.
I love all the dishes with thick flat noodle dishes from Xinjiang/Ganxu. Kunming have some really nice spicy rice noodle soup as well., forgot the name. Damn, I'm hungry now.
