Q: Feminist movement in China?

Is there a feminist movement in China? Or local ones in big cities at least? I find it to-ta-ly outrageous that Chinese men actually believe a good woman have to be in the kitchen.

Surely there is a movement to defend women rights!

Feminist movement in China is not as drastic as the western countries's. However, the social status of Chinese women have been rising all the time.

In the old period, traditionally women are confined to the house, shouldering the responsibilities of keeping house and feeding baby.

Then some pioneers, like Qiu Jin , Soong Ching Ling began to initiate the women's liberation. Traditional women began to release foot and learn to read.

After the foundation of new China, women's economic status and social status have a great improvement. More and more women join in job.

Trust me, don't need to long, women in China will be like women in Europe or let's say Germany. Don't need any man in life, can totally take care of ourselves and don't want to get married but prefer to be signal mum or unmarried mum.

I have a friend married to a girl who directs a local women's rights organization. He and his friends think it is "cute" and even "funny".

One thing here is the woman don't carry on like the Bull Headed dykes that are in the west, they wouldn't last a week. I hope the Chinese people put them in goal and throw the key away, the feminists in the west have done nothing for women at all!

Why do you need a movement to defend women in a country that respects them!
It seems to me that so many of you are just wet behind the ears with your comments, women where respected in the west once and believe you me if you disrespected them you would find out the hard way, now sadly women in the west are just treated like crap, but they are to blame because they wanted to be "Equal" whatever that means!

Yeah, when I see Chinese women with two black eyes wandering around all the time I know that was done with nothing but love and respect.

See, these western women with their "not getting hit" and wanting "equal pay for equal work." What a bunch of bull dykes. Chicks so unreasonable am I right?

Equal pay and no beating of women should never even have to be addressed. It is a shame that it does. I think feminisim went too far in North America. Women for the most part look and dress like men. Gay guys are more feminine than most women I know.
AND I THINK THE COMPRESSED POST IDEA BITES A BIG ONE
