Q: First time meets with gf's parents. what should pretend to be before them?
I have a meeting with my gf's parents, so just little confused.
Pretend to be sober at least for the duration of the visit.
Pretend you're not sleeping around with a bunch of other girls.

It depends... where do you see your relationship with this girl going?? Because she is inviting you to meet her parents, it means she's seeing into the long term (ie, marriage and kids!) If you want the same, then pretend you love them deeply, and want them to be super happy and taken care of.
If, however, you don't want things to get to serious, pretend you're really poor, and deeply in debt, and don't really get along with your family at all (and that's why you're in China - to get away from them...).
Do you love her? Then you will know what to do when you are there. What Scandinavian told you it's just the best suggestion.

Just pretend to be rich and successful...little else will matter to them (sad but true).
Give them a big juicy hongbao upon greeting them for the first time (split it into 2 envelopes as you must give gifts in an even number). This will prove your commitment to their daughter.
Anything about north of 6k should grant you enough face to charm them afterwards.

Don't pretend anything, just have confidence in your speech and be all ears to their opinion about your relationship with your daughter.
