All of China seems to go travelling Spring Festival. The trains are overbooked, the planes are crowded and the roads are congested. Yet many still go travelling during this period. What are places in China that you think are best avoided during Spring Festival and why?
Anywhere outside the city I'm living in, only masochists voluntarily travel during Spring Festival!
Just stay home, and only eat or shop locally. Going any place that requires a bus, train, or plane is bound to be hell.
I won't even be going into my kitchen or balcony. Its too damn cold.
With any luck, me and the gf will be catching the earliest plane possible on the first day of the holiday. We'll be leaving from the local airport, so as not to need to take a bus or train to Shanghai.
And actually, last year wasn't too bad taking the train. Me and the ex-gf visited her family by taking the train from my super small city to the nearest super small city to their even super smaller town . If you can keep your travel strictly between smaller stations, and as long as you get your tickets in advance, it's not too terrible.
1) A purely industrial district. No one would be around and it would be dirty and gross.
2) An empty field in the middle of nowhere. I could go to an empty field any time, but why go where there are no festivities?
3) Spring festival-haters headquarters office. What a bunch of grumps!
