Is there a law that says that foreign students are not allowed to take jobs, engage in trading activities or any other business activities during his/her study in China?

yes they are not allowed to work here because if you check their visa type its not work visa its i think X visa and if university caught you working some where then you should better pray not to get warnings and deported recently universities are deporting students involved in activities like these
Yes, visa regulations allow you to study in China, not to work, unless you can get the school to offer you some sort of intership. That will be the only legal way. Anything else that gives you an income will be illegal.
Internships are technically illegal too, unless its unpaid. Basically they cant track your tax records if you're on a student visa because students dont work and pay taxes. Any paid work is illegal on a student visa.
