Q: Foreigners purchasing on Taobao

Is there any foreign friend living in China who is actually still able to purchase stuff from Taobao? My account was blocked as I am not Chinese and do not have a 身份证 number. I tried to use my passport but it's not working. I am using my China Bank online account and it's not a bank issue. Anyone has any suggestions?

I really don't like to ask my Chinese coworkers to help me buy stuff all the times 'cause in the future they'll feel entitled to ask me anything but it seems like if you are not Chinese you can't buy stuff on Taobao anymore. Feels a bit unfair.

Not true. I bought some pants few days ago from Taobao. It works.

I buy many things from Taobao on a regular basis and never have a problem.  Set my account up 4 year ago with just my passport and my qq number and the help of chinese student. Check ur using correct account login and password. If that fails start again with new account..
