Just curious when and where people use either of these. Personally, in public I always use chopsticks. At home, it depends on what I'm eating, but usually a fork most of the time. Actually, it depends on who I'm with. If im at home and there are Chinese eating with me I will use chopsticks since I feel out of place with a fork.
So the question is, when and where do you use them? Do you prefer one over the other? What foods do you like or don't like eating with chopsticks? I dont like eating peas with chopsticks. lol
It all depends on where/what I’m eating.
Chinese restaurant? Always chopsticks!
Foreign restaurant? Depends on the food...Steak & chips I’d use a knife & fork. Risotto I’d go for spoon or chopsticks depending on my mood. Spaghetti would be fork & spoon even though I’d use chopsticks if thin noodles

It depends where you are in China as well. I’ve been in s lot of big Chinese restaurants where they’ve offered me s knife & fork. I always politely refuse. I prefer using chopsticks a lot of them time.

been in E/SE Asia pushing 15 years, so I feel weird if it's not the 'Sticks that are Chopped'.
I try to joke with Asians when I get the standard 'can you use kuaizi?" I like to look at them and say, 'yeah, pretty much, but I still prefer a spoon for soup'. Crickets.....
I always use chopsticks when I eat at home, except when I go for steak or soup, but for everything else I feel more comfy to eat with chopsticks.
I also rarely eat from the plate. My bowl is colourful, he he.
I use kuaizi at my mom's dinners 'cause everyone is amazed how I can chop on spaghetti with it.
chopsticks all the way;
even use em for ice cream, and peanuts are a great challenge to try and get 5 at once, yaAY!
