I will be going home in a month and this is new to me
I think he means the little slip you fill out at the airport before, flight departure
you can get a new one at the gate. it is unimportant. i carefully saved mine for a year and a half to find that all the other foreigners were filling out new ones
actually you do need exit visa its the visa you applied for this has to be in date or you get 500rmb/day fine the other is departure slip but you can get this at customs i know i was overdue on my visa and was pulled into immigration
nevermind:
That's not an exit visa. That's just the date you must leave. An exit visa is asking for permission to leave the country.
You don't need an exit visa. Just don't overstay your visa and you'll be fine.
I never need an exit visa. I just come and go, here and there. And even if stoppped, this border is porous, a child could dance across it with impunity if he knew the right places.
