I lived in Fuzhou for a while and loved it!.. The food is somewhat bland in general but the people are wonderful.  I was never treated poorly in any real measure.. In my opinion it is a really large "small town" and I consider it to be my Chinese "home town".  I will return there to visit or work whenever I can.
