Q: Full-size Oven or Clothes Dryer - Which do you wish you had more here?
My vote is for "clothes dryer"
Of course the dryer. I usually just use the stove back home anyways.
a dryer would be a superb hit in this country especially around winter
I, um... had/have both. I made sure my kitchen and laundry rooms were created to take them into account. I have a friend who works for an American appliance company here in China and he 'arranged' to have several appliances re-routed to my home for 'long-term testing'.
I asked him for a professional pizza oven, but he said I was getting greedy and no amount of blackmail / KTV VIP cards would make that happen.
Definitely a clothes dryer, doesn't even have to be full size.
Oven, it doesn't do any good sticking my head in a dryer.
I had a dryer and an oven in my last place. That was when China got REALLY comfortable.
Oven. Hands down. No contest.
Of course, when I lived in China I lived in the desert, so drying stuff out was not a hugely challenging procedure.
Owen. No contest.
I wish I can bake bread, pizza and cakes, or stuffed chicken... ![]()
I can hear my mother in law now, "What do you want that for?, It's a waste of electricity!"
An oven. My clothes are always dry in less than 2 days in winter (in summer 1 day is enough), so I don't need a clothes dryer. Maybe for those who live in humid areas it is useful.
