I recently found out that Kim Jong-un was colloquially known as "三胖" here (third fatty?) seeing as his grandfather and father were both slightly portly...although come to think of it whenever I envinsion Kim Jong-il I my mind always conjures up an image of a decripid, frail old man. Ah well. What others have you come across?
Ronald Mcdonald is actually known here as the clown....and The Colonel at KFC is known as white Grandfather.....
Bruce lee's nickname use to be little dragon....T T
Traveler:
Australia's Prime Minister is like Ronald McDonald - a red-haired clown.
I've heard Chinese people call Bill Gates "Beer Gets" or something similar sounding.
Scandinavian:
Poor dictation hardly qualifies as "funny nickname". Would be great if Bill would get beers though.
I once heard Kevin Rudd (Australia's former Prime Minister) referred to on CCTV-9 as a "kangaroo murderer," because he approved the culling of kangaroos in Australia (they're a huge pest).
It was the day after he released a defence white paper naming China as Australia's greatest military threat (2009).
