Q: Getting married to a chinese.

If you get married to a Chinese, what are the requirements for getting a Chinese Green Card? (if there is such)
I know you can apply for married visa which you have to renew every year and cannot work on that visa, so i want to know if obtaining a Chinese Green Card will allow you to work. (if crazy Chinese law doesn't allow you to work in Green Card too)

Have you tried searching the internet for this before asking here?

Basic requirements for getting a Chinese Green Card (Permanent Resident Permit):

1) Married for a minimum of 5 years

2) Lived in China for a minimum of 9 months/year during those 5 years

3) In stable employment (legally employed and paying Chinese taxes)

4) Stable home accommodation (can be rented but they prefer if you've bought an apartment, even if it is with a mortgage)

How easy are they to get? Bloody hard! Since 2004 they've only issued about 7000 though they are slowly making it easier. At the moment mainly for "high level talents".

Benefits of a Chinese green card? You can work for any company without the need for a work permit. Any others? Not really!

I'd post links but it's getting late and I can't be bothered...particularly as you could have found the above out for yourself.

But I'm glad you asked this as I was tempted to ask a question about the green card following a comment on another topic from a regular poster earlier.

You must have bought a home in China, having children will help the case. % years married. Background FBI, health check and tax check. Not easy and we still haven't met anyone who has gotten one yet.
