Q: Getting a Motorbike License in China?

Hi Everyone,

 

I'm a Canadian Citizen, living in Zhongshan.

 

I don't have a drivers license in Canada. (Not even a learners permit...)

 

How would I get a Motorbike License in China?

 

Also, my GF is getting one as well. She has a UK license. Will the testing center accept a Photocopy (front & back) of her license, or do they require the original?

Your girlfriend will need her original licence & will need to get it translated. 

 

Are you both living in Zhongshan on resident permits? If not you can't get a licence the legal way. 

 

If you've not already got a foreign motorbike licence then you're going to find it bloody hard work to get one. First you need to find a driving school in Zhongshan that will take s foreigner. Then you've got to pass the computer exam. Then....you'll have to take some lessons & tests but they'll be in Chinese! 

 

I I know of one guy who was trying to get his bike licence this way but he's been here for years & gets by okay in Chinese.
