Q: Going to China with a business invitation. Don't have US business cover letter...

I am a freelancer. I don't know how I can provide this. I am applying through an agency in the NYC jurisdiction. A Chinese company has sent me an invitation letter to participate in a start-up program, they will cover my accommodations. I will not be working (getting paid). What can I do?

Go to your state's Chinese embassy and get a F visa. That should cover you for what you want to do.

If you already have an invitation letter from a Chinese Company, go to the Chinese Consulate in NYC, located at :

520 12th Ave. New York, NY 10031 with the letter and other required documentation, and request your business visa there.
