Q: Has anybody repatriated Chinese remains?

My mother in law recently passed away in China and the wife is in China now looking after her Dad.She has come up with the idea to bring him to Australia for awhile, however I have a feeling that if he comes here , Well... he may very well fall off the perch and then I will need to get him back to China.  Is it easy to transport a cremation earn back to the Middle Kingdom? If anybody here  been in this situation I would love to hear about it. also those  of you  who have had to arrange visits for elderly family members from abroad.    Please do not think my blunt way of asking this was insensitive, as it is just my way .

I've never seen it done to China, but often the remains travel by Postal.

Sorry to hear that. Check with the airlines, they may allow "special" bags.

Phil: an expat  friend died in China some time back.  His daughter came from home and had him cremated.  Placed contents in an urn, placed urn in a shopping back, and hand carried it into the plane returning to their home.  He was buried there.  She did not ask any one for permissions, just did it.  But I do not know if it was luck or if it is OK.  Maybe do as Hulk suggested, call a couple of airlines and check.
