Q: Has anyone been to Lantern in Beijing?

I heard it was a pretty cool club, but I went with my friends last Saturday and it was basically empty and really bad. Was that an off night, or is it just not a good place?

I've been there once and didn't like it. I'll admit it's a little better than most of the other seedy bars in the Sanlitun area, but my advice to stay clear of all bars in that area in general. Why? Bad music, fake drinks, sleezy people, pickpockets, beggars etc. Go to the Gulou area instead or one of the lounge bars in the CBD. Those are way classier and you don't have to constantly look over your shoulder and manouver around ass-pinching douche bags.
