I've been healthy, allergy-free all my life...that was until I moved to Beijing a year ago. This summer, I've been sneazing non-stop and got inflamed eyes. Does anyone have the same experience and if so, any good advice on how to alleviate the symptoms? Any good over-the-counter medicine etc.?

According to your symptoms, it seems to be pollution-related.
The only good advice, go back home.... China is not the place for healthy people....
it could have to do with the fact that there is different pollen here in china than your hometown , next time i should actually read the entire question
It's probably just the pollution. Don't worry about it. Puts hair on your chest.
YES!! Great question - After living in China for 3 yrs I returned to the UK and suddenly I was allergic to dust mites in my bedroom (but nowhere else in my house), and bread.
UK Doctors had no idea why.
And every time I go back to China, I'm fine there - no dust allergy, no hay fever, no food allergy.
I can't fathom why.
Sneezing and inflamed eyes is probably a reaction to the chronic and terrible pollution. Hope you find a cure soon!
They do have the equivalent for Claritin here, it's sold over-the-counter in most pharmacies. It's a 24-hour antihistimine, so should cure most allergy problems when taken once a day.
Check the medical name (in English) on google, write it down, and take it to the pharmacy with you. If they don't know, ask them for 'guomin yao‘ (过敏药)- allergy medicine, look for the medicine's English translation on the box.
