Q: Has anyone ever gotten fake medication from a pharmacy?

I'm always reading about how it is a major problem, but I've yet to meet anyone whose gotten it. 

 

Maybe they've received fake medicine and just never knew? 

 

Anyone here every get fake medicine?

I've never actually met anyone who has gotten fake drugs (and known about it) but since I live in close proximity of Hong Kong and Macau, I can tell you that this is one of the things people carry back to China, a lot. And my wifes vitamins are some that I've had sent from back home. 

 

People certainly seem cautious about drugs.

i agree with Scan above.

any basic medicines/vitamins i bring with me.

In fact i supply some local friends with supplements if they are unavailable here.

basic medical health is not something to be taken lightly in China, and should not be left to chance. 

I for one would not like to take the risk of buying something from a pharmacy that is in the best case fake and will make me more unwell, and in the worst case lethal.

I am going to Cebu, soon and working on getting some prescriptions filled while I am there......  are they any better than here is my question?  my prescriptions have expired a long time ago, but I hope to convince somebody to just redo them..... blood pressure/cholesterol pills .........  in Canada I was told I'd probably need them forever..... but living here I don't think I do......... but ,,,,,, yah, but,,,,I am going to find out about getting them in Cebu...  my little experience here in my China town with Dr.'s has been to avoid if at all possible.....  Dentists OK ...not docs!!
