A friend of mine who is married to a Chinese guy told me today that her company says she can get a B visa which will allow her to work legally. Apparently, it is for "a family member working visa".
Yes, my bullshit detector was off the scales too.
She maintains that it is on a government system and the boss spoke to someone in the government who confirmed this. She reckons she saw it on the system (in Chinese?) and was looking at it as we spoke. Maybe she thought R visa was a B visa. I don't know.
Anyway, I have never heard of this and my Bing searches failed to find anything at all about a B visa. My bullshit detector is still in the red.
Just wondering if anyone has heard of such a mythical beast? And if so, what is it?
** Note: I'm an arsehole for calling bullshit on this. I know, I'm generally an arsehole, but specifically this time, there is a reason.

B1&B2 visa is for Chinesers into USA.
Yahoo-gle 'Chinese B visa' for more.
iWolf:
Yeah, i found the usa model but further searches turned up nothing else. I thought maybe it was a new deal.....bollocks.
Now the visa troll disappears? Convenient. Does this friend also think 9/11 was an inside job and the Vegas massacre had multiple shooters in multiple casinos?
iWolf:
lol...I'm not sure of her opinion about those two but Stanley Kubrick filmed the moon landing in a studio outside of London (possibly the Goodies or Basil Brush set) . Methinks this B visa was printed on one of the moon rocks.

Never heard of such a Chinese visa. Sounds like B...ollocks to me!
iWolf:
That was my thought also but she got a bit offended when i used a euphemism for bovine excrement.
The B Visa is held in Beijing for B.B. King. He’s the only Being Beknighted with such Benevolence.
yeah, I’m an Elvis man, but B.B. rockin’ ‘the thrill is gone’ is in a world of it’s own!
Maybe talking about a B work permit. Get a wp, an RP is sorted.
Direct your friend to this website iwolf... all answers are here.
It never stops amazing me that so many foreigners here are too lazy, or too much head in the sand, to do a few clicks and research.
ironman510:
This sounds more logical. China would never allowed married folks to work, supporting your family on a marriage visa would be so illegal, but so needed.
iWolf:
You guys may have hit the nail on the head. She has no degree and her company wants to keep her so are filling her head with nonsense. So, in fact, B-WP is out of the question anyway. Wishful thinking. Sotty, she has been recommended to come to this site by myself and Phil on several occasions. She never did. I think grasping at unicorn straws is more appealing than getting to the truth of the matter and dealing with the reality of it. After the amount of bullshit and the vast number of ridiculous bullshit stories her company told her about getting her a workong type resident permit she still hangs her hopes on each lie they tell her. Neither she nor her company understand how the legal working process works. Last month her company convinced all their illegal FTs that a police registration was a work permit. Explaining the truth of that was a battle when they company had already convinced them of the lie.
It means she is allowed to come off a family resident permit and on to a working permit and she's gonna be a teacher because she got a B talent card, that means she qualified for it. She only switched visas and the PSB will just switch the sticker in the passport to a working permit.
ironman510:
I checked baidu in Chinese and there is no news of a B visa that allows married folks to work. It's a B working permit card only.
iWolf:
Thanks mate. If such a beast existed and appeared in the wild there would have been news about it and every man and his dog would be on one. There has been no news and everyone is not on one of these amazing beasts. My initial thoughts were similar to yours. It sounded like a wp for someone who was married to a foreigner who was on a Working - RP and was given approval to work. She's married to a local guy and has no degree. Ergo, no work permit. Agents are offering work permits but as we know, they are useless if the boys in blue check.
ironman510:
If and when that news becomes true someday I will celebrate with a trip to Hawaii and take the power of jobs into my own hands.
it's funny guys oneupon time these is b1 and b2 visa now no more only Q visa in Q visa you cannot work just enjoy

the internet is a fantastic thing.
you can contact businesses and government departments directly. (they tend to have accurate information)
Forum's, on the otherhand, are full of the insane, the sensitive as well as the helpful.
but here's the kicker.
even the most 'helpful' on any forum may not have accurate information.
but for the lazy, it is often the first port of call.
