Q: Has anyone ever lived or been to Taizhou, Jiangsu?

I want to know what it is like to there and what to do there.

I am in Taizhou, Jiangsu, since two weeks ago. Developing city of around 500 000 residents with rural area close by.

I'm not familiar with the city yet.

I like it. It's small city with Carrefour and park with huge lake in downtown. Which School is offering a job?

I saw a kindergarten job online. I am now trying to get more information about the school. Do not know the name of the school yet.

There is big outside market not far away from my home. You can see farmers selling fruits and veggies just by the main 3-lanes road. Close to the open market is shopping mall with small stores, selling food and apartment items on one side, and on the other side is big mall selling furnishing and bathrooms, tech. stuff, banks and so on.

In downtown (some 2 km away) is Carrefour and Apple store (not run by Apple), and mostly garment shops.

I live in huge apartment, for which my Public School assured me, I won't share. It's place for some 3 teachers. That is the reason, I asked for the name of the School.

I didn't see any Training mills at my last weekend bike ride through the city. There're plenty kindergartens.

It's pretty cool, actually. It's one of the few places where you can still find the "Old China."

But it's polluted just like anywhere. What do you want from the city?

I have never been there and saw a job there. I like small cities better than big. I come from a huge city. I have been to a lot of places in Jiangsu, just not there and thought it would be intresting to see a part of Jiangsu I have not been to before.

It's only about 1 hour from Yangzhou which really is a beautiful city (Slender West Lake, Ge Gardens, Ye Gardens, Buddhist Museum, Daming Temple) and great Weiyung food. Now it has a Metro store too for Western supplies. In Yangzhou you can see the stars most nights (low air pollution) so I suspect that if Taizhou is small it might be pretty clean too (by Chinese standards).

yes Metro is great for butter, cheese and smallgoods. You can often buy New Zealand butter.
