Q: has anyone ever met a wumao?

I went to a bar recently and got chatting to this guy who seemed like a nice person. we exchanged wechat names and i saw him a few times in the same bar since.

Yesterday he suddenly went through about 5 pictures throughout my wechat account and added a comment.

'this picture is not allowed by the China government'.

WTF!

So I deleted the freak obviously. But was he a wechat wumao or someone who had a sudden burst of patriotism after 50 bijous?

May be he was just informing you about a rule of the Chinese law, does it have anything with being a wumao? I have been told by many British friends about British law and I took them helping hands to let me know about a country where I was living...

Mr_Sausage:

Well...I think thats it really. I cant decide whether its what you say or a 'veiled threat'

Baaa! thanks anyway, maybe I deleted him to soon!

Deleting someone from your account is ok if you think he was mingling in your personal likeness. We all do so having different reasons.

You don't say what the photos were.

The law is the law after all. You may not like it, but such is life. You won't change the world by posting risky pictures on your wechat

Go on, tell us what the pictures were, we want to be Judge, Jury and Executioner wink.

Mr_Sausage:

Nothing political anyway. No big boobies either.

You sound like Judge Dredd! wink

Not at all wink.

But you give half a story and expect us to agree with you ?

For all we know you could be posting photos of empty chairs that you have bought .

you know that might have just been a joke...

I imagine that being a bona fide wumao actually requires a good sense of humor.

They don't believe the shit they write! It's just a job to them. Do you honestly think that someone who is quite literally paid to write slanted drivel actually believes in what they are writing?? It's expressly NOT their own opinions!

it's like thinking the people who write TV commercials passionately believe that Dove soap is the best. HOW DARE YOU USE OLAY???? DOVE MAKES THE GREATEST SOAPS IN ALL THE LAND!!!!

Even if he was a wumao he wouldn't comment on wechat photos and wouldn't be that obvious about it.

People here don't support government censorship! They hate it too!

Does it count if I dated the daughter of two government officials who had a very well-connected family?

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
