Q: Has anyone ever tried eating sea cucumber here? What's it like?

I've been at a few dinners where sea cucumber was ordered. I know it's really expensive but I have never been able to get myself to eat it because it looks slimey and gross.

It does indeed look slimy and gross (I mentally call it sea slug...). That said, when I have eaten it I have found it to be rather tasteless. But still, slimy and gross. I eat just one to be polite, and then claim to be full.

I think it all depends on how it is prepared. I have had some that tasted like slimy rubber and others that actually tasted okay. The best, for me, so fare has been prepared in a egg-drop like soup.

A:I'll give my two cents on the age part. It's not as easy but can definitely be done. I was 21, fresh out of university and landed my first teaching job in china as a homeroom kindergarten teacher on a pretty standard 20,000/month salary. I'm 1 year in now and am still happy. Pretty much all international kindergarten jobs on here want 2 years experience, but many will still accept if you have experience in your home country. With that being said, being white and having a nice looking face is much more of a decision factor in china vs the west, if you can- use it to your advantage. Good luck finding something! -- brinsleym
