Q: Has anyone had Tuborg beer - hao bu hao he?

Some randomer (family friend/ayi) recently gave me a box of Tuborg beers. The beer tasted OK but no matter what when you drunk it it bloated your stomach and you just couldnt burp for the life of god - my friend said exactly the same. I refused to drink the rest of them so they were used for cooking....I wanted to bin them!!

I'm convinced it was fake beer but the bottles looked good with fancy pull top caps. Has anyone else had this beer here?.....when I received it they said it was a quality beer because it was European......mmmmnnnn.....European beers (Special Brew etc. excluded!!) are good, but this sucked big time! in UK I dont recall ever seeing it or drinking it....I've heard of the brand and its part of the Carlsberg group - is it just a reallly sh*t beer or is someones palming their fake cr*p onto me??!!!

I bought a 6 pack of this back in Canada, and I never liked it much. It was ok, nothing more.

I am not a big fan of the Danish beers that I have tried.

Tuborg was around when i was a teenager in the uk, ( 48 now )

It was a shit beer then, so guessing nothing has changed.

Didnt know they still brewed it to be honest, and wouldnt have imagined you could get it here.

I read online that they're trying to launch it here - lucky chinese....

There's a bar that does free beer night here in Nanjing. That's what they been offering. Even on other night's it's only 10 RMB a bottle at a bar so that should say enough. I agree the bottle looks okay but the beer is shit. i wouldn't even use it to cook

Cheers DHorn, I much prefered to drink the Chinese lagers than that crap. Harbin seems to be nice, even the local one here, Liquan, is better than Tuborg.

I also like Harbin best for Chinese beers.

Tuborg is a danish beer brewed by Carlsberg.

In Denmark it is regarded the same quality as Carlsberg and as such a good beer.

The taste is very similar to Carlsberg, so if you found it very different it was most likely fake.

I never found them while I lived in China expect in import shops.

Yeah its not great. Brewed by Carlsberg i believe. They are always doing promotions of this in UK at music festivals an such. Very cheap.

Tuborg beer is okay, not great and not terrible, a pretty standard mass produced European lager. I would always have taken Carlsberg above Tuborg and Kronenberg (sp?) above both of them, but Tuborg's drinkable. You can definitely find it in the UK - I remember seeing it in Scotland.

If you found it unndrinkable then it was probably fake, or a bad batch, had been sunlight affected or such. The pull-tops are authentic from what I remember, and I don't remember any side effects from drinking it beyond what you'd normally expect expect from drinking beer.

Fake or shit, either way I wont touch it again. :) Something like corona with lime in it is always a safe bet when it comes to fizzy beers. When it comes to real ales, Leeds, UK wher I spent my formative years is heaven.

Tuborg in China is locally bottled and almost has nothing to do with the beer from Denmark except the brand... it is a licence produced in Chongqing with only 3.1% alcohol as most chinese beers and does taste shit!!! stick to the golden rule with chinese beers - the cheapest is the most drinkable.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
