Q: Has anyone hear eaten the Chinese food at McDonald's?

Or at KFC? They have Chinese food that is not like the Western food that I want at these restaurants.

I am in the China, I can get Chinese food at any where, no need at Western fast food.

I've tried the "Chinese" food at KFC a couple of times. Was according to expectations, on par with low end hole-in-wall outfits.

I've had the Macdonald's breakfast rice porridge before - not that bad when desperate at an airport or trains station.

If I was 'desperate' at a MacDonalds I would only have that crappy porridge if it was the only thing on the menu.

I had the chicken and rice bowl once. ONCE! Not great. I was ordering for delivery late at night and she told me what the 'special deal' was and I decided to take a chance and order. ONCE!

You are obviously not in China working in a professional business (let me guess, first word starts with "E", second word starts with "T", right?).

This is simply a foreign company tailoring it's product to local needs and wants (or in this case, tastes).  In the business world this is nothing out of the ordinary.

McDonalds in India has no beef or pork items and has an expanded vegetarian menu.  US-bound cars made by Honda have seats that are an inch wider than standard, etc...

I loathe KFC here in China.  Nothing like abroad...

that being said, where I live, they recently introduced a full beef-based menu, believe it or not, and then they introduced all kinds of Chinese-Western style dishes, really cheap and actually quite good.  In any case, these "bento boxes" are far better than KFC's normal fare and a lot cheaper.
